I bought this hutch/dresser thing just last week and worked on it between projects – i couldnt wait to get it painted. Its got some good bones :)
Before…
After…
I painted in Honeymilk by Valspar in a high gloss finish, chipped the paint and then finished with a high gloss coat of poly. I love how the distressing brings out the details on the cupboard door panels.
This piece is up for sale – head over to {Sweet Pickins} for more information (local pick-up only – Utah)

I have always thought this kind of cabinet would be a great cabinet for the TV. Take the inside drawers out and put the TV in. Very cute!!!
I'm telling you if I lived anywhere near by I'd be there in a heartbeat to get it. I am in LOVE!
It's gorgeous! I just love that kind of cabinet. Pretty storage = fabulous!

Schweet.. I remember a friend when I was in grade school in the 60's that had a very similar dresser and I envied the style of it. Looks much better in white.

I just found your blog through Rod Works! I love updating old furniture, what a great blog… so cute!
Very cute – I have tried this though, and my projects haven't "chipped" as well as yours did. They looked smeared or dented. How did you do that?
I love Rod Works. They just opened one right by me, and I have spent a small fortune already. The basket is so cute, but anything from Rod Works is darling. You can't go wrong shopping there.
This one is absolutely gorgeous!
This piece is gorgeous!!
please excuse my ignorance – what is poly??? I have painted my unit with esp – then key sanded it – used farrow and ball dimity to paint with – couple of coats – quick light sand esp on corners etc and thats it – could I making it even better with this "polY" and do they sell it in uk? Had to order my ESP from USA so thats an option if I cant find it here!
