So much to do…

So much to do…

I have sooooo much to do, my husband comes back from Iraq(he’s in the Army) in the beginning of May (gone since July 09) and i want to get a few projects done before then – but i do have a couple that will be done this weekend and i will post those for sure :) But, i love these linky parties, i love going and seeing what all the cute things that people are doing – very fun and i get so many ideas (which may be a bad thing because that just adds to the list!)  But, i love having stuff to do, keeps me occupied :) So,i have linked up the kids playroom, $5 mirror/nightstand and the spring tissue wreath to Somewhat Simple and The Shabby Chic Cottage

I was highlighted on Funky Junk Interiors and The Twice Remembered Cottage for my fun playroom makeover :)      So,with all that excitement out of the way (wink, wink) i don’t have any new projects to post today, BUT i am working on the kids bathroom so i will post that in the next few days.  Here is a little sneak peak…   **I linked up the flower tissue wreath to Twice Remembered Cottage, The Girl Creative, A Soft Place to Land, Cottage Instincts, Today’s Creative Blog, The Frugal Family **I linked the mirror/night stand to Cottage Instincts **I linked up the playroom to Today’s [...]

>Spring tissue paper wreath

>Spring tissue paper wreath

> I wanted to make a fun, easy and springy wreath for the front door.  I was inspired by other tissue paper projects that i have seen and decided to give it a try.  It turned out so very cute, it is so big and fluffy and definitely looks fresh and springish…now i want one for every room in the house, its that cute :) You will need a wreath form (i used a wire one), some tissue  paper, thin wire and hot glue Take the tissue paper and cut down to size, i cut them out to the size of an envelope and used that as my template – then i layered about 10 sheets on top of each other for each “flower” Fold each stack accordion style Then with scissors round off both ends and cut a slit from both sides right in the middle Next, take thin [...]

>Antique nightstand and $5 mirror makeover

>   I have this little space behind the couches in the family room and didn’t know what to do with it.  One day i was in my grandmas garage and found this old nightstand – it had junk on it piled to the ceiling (you think i am kidding!) and it was filled with crap.  So i snatched it up…it will be perfect with a little love :) I found out that this was actually my grandpas parents nightstand – so that makes it really old, it still had the original paint – it had never been touched.  But, the yellow just wasnt working for me.  So white she went… Do you see that empty frame above?  It did have a mirror but right after i finished it – seriously like a week later – the kids broke it!!  It had been empty for about 6 months but then [...]

>Playroom reveal – drumroll please…..!!!

>   Although i still have a few little things i want to do, its 98% DONE Just to remind you, this is what i started with… Since then, i painted ALL the walls with chalkboard paint (black).  I was a little worried at first but it all turned out good because the wall color only goes up about 3/4 and then i have molding to break up the space.  Also with the white couch and the bookcase the space is definitely not dark.     The walls were super easy to paint, i did primer the space before with a dark gray primer and then it just took 2 coats of the chalk board paint – i just used a regular roller and it turned out nice and smooth – like a babies butt ;) do you remember this table? And these chairs? And this dresser? I painted the [...]

>Weekend wrap up -

>Weekend wrap up -

> So, i didn’t get much done this week, at least not things that i had planned on doing.  I had bought some fabric for the kids playroom for some pillows, but i am just not “in love” with it so i am going to search a little more this week.  So, hopefully by this weekend the kids playroom will be DONE!  I started a desk for a friends little boy, so that should be done in a couple of days, i will post that too when its done, its turning out pretty cute if i say so myself! I did hang this wooden carved “thing” in my entry way.  I love the piece itself, i just don’t know if its right for this space, it may be a little too small?  I think it may have been from the casing of an old door, and it was for sure [...]
