Ever since i saw a pic of something similar about 2 years ago, i have wanted to make an embroidery hoop wall somewhere in my house. It was one of those pics that i gasped when i saw it – i loved the idea that much! If you follow me on Facebook, you will know that last week i finally started my little project :) (check out my growing collection of old watering cans, cant get enough of those!) I love the mismatched fabrics and the fun colors – plus its unique and you can bring in colors and fabrics that will match your home. And the fabrics can easily be changed out. You could even add in fabrics for different holidays/seasons. I waited for a while before finally doing my wall because i really wanted to hang curtain panels on all the windows on my back wall to soften [...]
{My Bedroom}
I was doing so good trying to post more regularly, but then Santi went out of town for all of last week and i just got busy doing other stuff and i just didnt get around to posting – but im back now :) ……………………….. I am getting ready to do a little re-do on my room, nothing big. Just changing up the paint and adding a couple little things that i have been waiting forever to do. And i realized i have never shown pics of my room before… I couldnt find a real before pic. When we moved in we had white walls and nothing else. The only thing we brought with us from our old house was our bedroom set. As a quick fix i painted the walls April Thicket by Valspar. Then, when Santi was deployed and went to Iraq for about a year and 1/2, [...]

{Dresser #139} – Before & After
When i started working on this dresser, i wasn’t too inspired. The yucky puke brown paint made this dresser super blah and boring and didn’t excite me too much. I actually was so uninspired that i was couldn’t decide on a paint color, which normally that is the easy part because certain pieces just “speak” to me and i go with it. I ended up deciding to paint it a creamy yellow and then glaze it. I even got the paint out and put the dresser in my paint booth and then at the last second i decided to go with white. I thought white with a black glaze will be perfect. So, i started painting the white and when i got to the drawers it hit me that the drawers look like old planks or bead board. Perfect! Right then i knew exactly what direction to take this dresser! That poop [...]

{I’ve got it all figured out…} thinking out loud
For some time now i have been a little stumped with how i want to decorate my upstairs living area. I thought i had it all good about the time that i filmed my house for the Nate Show – but then after that i wanted to change things up a bit, you know how that is! So i removed some of my furniture, planked a few walls, added some furniture, painted my walls, changed out my pillows a hundred times – but it still wasn’t feeling the way i wanted it to feel. Part of my problem is that i really like a lot of styles! I would look at some pics online and really like the whole neutral, monochromatic thing that they had going on with no color and lots of natural elements. But i also would really love the pics of neutral walls and painted furniture with pops of [...]

{Last years Halloween Decor}
This is a repost from last Halloween – i havent been able to decorate for Halloween yet this year, but i am hoping to start today. As you can see i love creepy, scary Halloween! Not much cutesy stuff for me. As soon as i get this years done, i will be sure to post. Cant wait to unpack the doll heads! (I just noticed all my pics still have my Show & Tell watermark, if you remember, i changed my blog name about a year ago. And im not going to go back and change the watermark, oh well!) ……………………….. This is what I threw together for my entry… I got these awesome lanterns a few years ago but they have been in storage all this time, I really want to paint them white, but the dingy green/gray will work perfect for halloween I love creepy halloween and old [...]

{I Love to Strip}
Strip furniture that is…. Seriously – its like picking a big ol’ scab…it kinda hurts, its messy, its yucky, sometimes it splatters and burns – but ahhhh, when its done you just want to pick some more!!! Is that gross?!? But really – i LOVE stripping furniture! I love when i get a piece with tons of build up paint layers that need to be removed prior to painting or sanding. It makes me giddy – ahhhh, i live a simple life!! I normally only strip paint off furniture if i want to stain it instead of repainting, or if the texture off all the old paint is really bad (lots of chipping, paint drips or overall yucky buildup of paint that wont be able to be smoothed out with sanding). Now, sometimes that old paint texture will look awesome with a fresh coat of paint and some glaze over [...]

Ask Me Anything!!!
I was checking out one of my most favorite blogs yesterday, In the Fun Lane, and she had a post called “Ask Away” – she was giving her readers a chance to ask her any question – about anything and she would answer – fun huh?! I think its a great idea, so im going to totally copy and do it too!! So, i will answer any question – whether it be about painting furniture, my house, my kids, decorating – whatever!! Just leave the question in the comments and i will do a post this weekend answering the questions!!
