{Distressing with an electric sander}
> I LOVE distressed furniture – to me, the more distressed the better. Especially white/cream distressed pieces with a dark stain underneath that will show through. That gets my heart pumpin. Just so happens that i had a cute little antique desk in my stash with simple lines and a dark stain – perfect for some heavy distressin’. I painted the bottom half a creamy white, let it dry and then took my sander to it – very fun and so much easier and faster than sandpaper or a sanding block. I try and distress this way whenever i can – it doesn’t look good on all furniture, it takes the right one, and this little desk fit the bill :) Sorry, no before pic – what was i thinking – that’s right… i wasn’t thinking – sometimes i just get so excited to paint and it would be soooo [...]

{Craft Hutch}
> I got this computer armoire a while back and loved its cute curved top and raised panel doors right away. BUT – it was a computer armoire, do people really use those anymore? I don’t know? But, i had an idea for it right away – how’s about a craft hutch? If i didn’t have a dedicated craft room i definitely would use this piece :) I started with this…cute right? Well cute bones anyways. Then i gave it my blue/green oops paint color and heavily glazed it with a brown stain – i talked about glazing here. AND, i get emails all the time about this color. {Refinished antique desk}
> A couple of weeks ago, my husbands friend PJ brought me over this super cute desk – he found it with a “free” sign on the side of the road. Sweet!!! I bet the people that set it out on the curb would want it back after its cute little make-over :) Too bad…so sad (for them that is) And thanks so much PJ – you have awesome taste and im so glad you saw this little desk’s potential. Make sure you grab me all the free furniture that you see! Before – it was in a little bit of disrepair. It needed a shelf/drawer, and some of the veneer was cracked. Nothing a little bondo and wood cant fix. There must have been something there before because it has these wood brackets that slant down towards the bottom of the desk. {Refinished dresser}
