Peace Sign with Paper Flowers – Tutorial

Im back.  And if you notice, its only been a week since i posted last, not 6 months!!  Im so on a roll ;) So – if you remember, ive been re-doing my entry way.  Last time i posted about it, i had just put up the vintage cupboard over my blue dressser.  Well, now both of those are gone.  I just couldnt work with that cupboard as much as i loved it, so im going to use it somewhere else.  Where, im not sure yet – but i love it and it will find a new home somewhere. Anyways.  Ive recently refinished a buffet for me, its pink!!!  If you follow me on facebook you have already seen it.  Looks like a new blog post is in order about the buffet as well.  The new pink buffet is now in my entry way and i will be doing a […]

{Decorating Crisis} Entryway Progress #2

Oh man you guys, my entry way is not coming along like i had hoped.  Normally, things just kinda work out and its not often that i struggle with making things look the way that i want them – this is not the case with my entry re-decorating! If you have been following along, you know that i am breaking down my entry progress like i said in this post.  I was really hoping i would be further along by now.  So far i have painted and repainted, stripped paint off, repainted again – and had to go back to the “drawing board” lots of times. This is a wordy post with no pretty pics – just beware!  But this is my thought process about my whole ordeal :) ……………………… So – the last post about my entry i left off with painting my antique cupboard.  Along with painting it, […]

{Entry Way Progress} – Part #1

I recently found a new blog that i really like.  Scout & Nimble – you have to check out there new beams here….amazing i tell ya.  I totally want to put those giant beams in my main areas of my house, maybe one day ;) Anyways, on Jesse’s blog she is doing a post about her master bedroom and showing us the makeover in real time.  I thought this was a fabulous idea and im totally going to borrow it!  We all like a good before and after post, but i really like the journey of how the room got that way and the thought process behind it. For 2013 im going to concentrate on one area of the house @ a time instead of jumping room to room like i always do (this is what i say im going to do and i will try really, really hard!).  All […]

{When things don’t always go as planned}

If you guys follow me on Facebook, you will remember that i was @ an auction one night and had to have this antique cupboard, there is just something about it that i LOVE!!  Well, i had to bid against one another guy, but in the end i got it – i was so happy because i have the perfect spot…so i thought. Remember when i planked my kitchen?  Well i also planked my entry and when i did i took down my curtain rod (that you can see here) so i could change things up a bit.  My plan from the second i saw the cupboard was to put it above my entry dresser.  The cupboard has been sitting around for quite a while now and finally the other day i made Santi help me get it up.  As soon as we turned it right side up and got […]

{Springified entry way}

{Springified entry way}

> While i am waiting for paint to dry, i thought i would take a few pics of my “springified” entry way.  Even though – the weather outside is crap – not very springy here at all :( This is what it looked like last week…I am really bad and don’t change things up much around here – i always think i am going to, but other things come up.  But this is a perfect spot to change up, since its a pretty big spot and i can see it from the main areas of my house. And after…I changed out the wood architectural piece above the rod for a old long window.  I took down the pics of the kids, and hung mason jars from the rod.  Then i changed out my wreath for my tissue one that i posted about here.  And then, just changed out a few […]

{entryway dresser – take 3}

{entryway dresser – take 3}

You may remember my post here and here about my previous entry way dressers – well, this is my 3rd attempt – may be the last one….at least for now anyways :) Before… I got this one for free (free, is the best for me!) – and its almost exactly what i was looking for – i kind of wanted something with an open bottom – but this works, plus its less floor that i have to clean :) After… I love the lines of this dresser/buffet – whatever it used to be.  Its very simple and provides lots of storage.  I repainted dresser in Valspar’s “ultra white” – then i replaced the top because it was damaged.  I was planning on doing pine board planks, but then i found these panels @ Lowes – they sell all different sizes and come stain ready – and super cheap – i […]

{Dresser turned entry table turned bench – are you following?!}

{Dresser turned entry table turned bench – are you following?!}

> You may remember my dresser turned entry table that i posted about here, and then i got a new entry table that i posted about here.  Well, i have taken the old entry table and turned it into a bench. When i was building the old entry table (in its former life it was a dresser), before i had added the legs i thought that it would be a pretty cute bench, but i didn’t need a bench.  Well, i still don’t need a bench and that’s why I’m selling it, but i still wanted to post it to show you guys  – and maybe you have an old dresser lying around that could be modified?  Plus it makes a very unique bench with a little storage.  I actually love the idea of having a bench at the end of my bed – somewhere to throw the pillows, and […]

{Entry way dresser – switcharoo}

{Entry way dresser – switcharoo}

> Long time no see…sorry about that :)  I have a ton of projects in the works, some fun – some not so fun.  Mostly just a lot of cleaning and “dejunking” my house getting ready for some new house projects – ya!!!! I did want to show you guys a little dresser that i worked on a couple of weeks ago.  I got it at goodwill for $40 a few months back and knew that she would be looking super cute all fixed up.  I didn’t plan on keeping the dresser – but when i brought it inside to take a picture to post for sale, my husband said that he liked the new one better.  I wasn’t too sure at first – but sometimes (and only sometimes) i let him have his way :) The new dresser does provide more storage so i like that part (also it […]

house tour

house tour

> Well, my closet project that was supposed to get finished up today is not quite done – its all ready for paint so i will hopefully finish it up this week and post it soon.  But, this is a guest post that i did over @ Remodelaholic a couple weeks ago – check it out :) When Cassity asked me to part of her home tour I was so excited – my blog was so new at that time.  There is so much talent out there and this is truly an honor. I am going to show you the “main” part of my house.  The entry, family room, dining room and the kitchen.  These rooms are nearly done but I definitely have some things that I want to change up – especially after looking at them through a camera :) This is the outside of our house – we […]
