Our downstairs bathroom has come a long way. From just being an empty room a couple months ago and now we can call it done! (well, almost, there are still a couple small things to do) Of course there is still the funnest part – the decorating, but that will come soon. We have been working so hard in the basement the last few months and i really haven’t felt inspired as far as decorating goes, but now that we have slowed down and i have time to breathe, it will come soon. ……………… In our basement, we used french doors going into every room, including the bathroom (a smaller size than normal). I understand that we put glass doors on a bathroom….they will be getting curtains soon, but i need to decide on a fabric. The doors were painted bright white, the same white used on the walls and [...]
{Antique Dresser turned Bathroom Vanity} – and bathroom sneak peak!!
The last month has been pure craziness around here!! We have been working non stop in the basement, just trying to get everything done. Lots of late nights and early mornings. The kids have been totally neglected and the rest of the house has gone to hell. I am just ready for all the building and painting to be done so i can get to the fun stuff – furniture and decorating!! ……………………… We have gotten the bathroom about 95% done. There is still a little trim work, some caulking and a little painting to be finished up and then we can call this bathroom done. Ive had a vision for this bathroom since we moved in almost 6 years ago, and although we made a few changes to our original plans, it turned out exactly how i wanted it too. Something i knew that i wanted in there right [...]

{updated 1/2 bath} – again
I say “again” because I cant even count how many times this bathroom has been painted – but I LOVE it now and I will not repaint it again….at least for 3 years – that’s what I say now anyways :) When I painted this bathroom a couple of years ago – I hated the color since I put it up. I finally decided to change it up because I was repainting the laundry room as well and I wanted both of them the same color (they are close to each other). Before… And now…as you can see I haven’t changed up the décor at all!! Need to work on that next…so many things to do… To read about framing up your standard builder mirrors, go here I also took this old door out of the laundry room and hung it up above the toilet. I love how it fills [...]

{mirror questions}
> I am sporadic on my postings – I am sorry :) Its not that i am not busy – it just hasn’t been the fun stuff that you guys all want to see, unless you want to see scrubbing cabinet doors, mopboards and organizing drawers? I have started on a couple of small projects though – that hopefully i can show you in the next couple of days. Until then, i have had quite a few questions on one part of my mirror molding that i just posted about. People are asking about how the side of the mirror looks. Whether i overlapped my molding to cover the edge of the mirror – or how i dealt with that. All i did was line up my molding even with the mirror – then painted the edge of the molding black to match the mirror. So now when you look [...]

{Lamp re-vamp – (hey that rhymes!)}
Sorry i have been MIA this last week, kids are back to dance and soccer 4 nights a week + saturdays, and husband is still in iraq (coming home in May!) so i haven’t had a lot of extra time. I do have a couple of fun projects that i started this week though – a framed mirror tutorial coming soon :) I did manage to get this lamp done this week. I bought it @ the Salvation Army for $10 – for both the shade and base. The pink lamp shade was pretty cute but didn’t work for the room. Before… I took off all the pink fabric and covered it in white cotton… I made simple fabric flowers with the same white cotton and hot glued them on the lamp, here and there… I put it in my kids bathroom, the one that i just recently re-did [...]

{another framed builder mirror + a book wreath}
> Recently i decided to change up my 1/2 bathroom just a little. I had a cute old 4 pane window above the toilet that i put different fabric in each of the panes, but since i repainted the bathroom a while ago it just wasn’t working. And i totally could of just changed out the fabric but i was ready for a change, and plus i wanted to make a book wreath (like everyone else, i know) and this was a good spot to put it! Before..(the walls are not this color at all, they are a light “mocha” color – don’t know what happened with this pic?) Then i made a book wreath – sorry no pictures of the “making” of said wreath – but just google it and they are everywhere :) I really like the wreath but it needs something, i think maybe it needs [...]
