The awesome folks over @ Graco are letting me giveaway one of their Graco True Coat Plus II paint sprayers to one lucky winner!!

Graco giveaway - Sweet Pickins Furniture

As some of you may know, i have been using a Graco paint sprayer for a couple years (*not the same model as the giveaway) and i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!  It makes painting so fast and easy and cuts your painting time down a ton!  I posted about it here.

Applying paint with a paint sprayer is up to 10x faster than brushing and up to 4X faster than rolling!  - Thats a huge time saver!

It’s easier – setting up a paint sprayer only takes moments and using it simplifies your project because there are no messy trays or rollers.  Plus, cleanup is fast and easy—for many people it just takes minutes.

Spraying creates a professional finish.  Your smooth, flawless project lasts longer and looks great. Graco is the brand the professionals pick—U.S. painting contractors prefer Graco 7 to 1 over the nearest competitive brand, according to the Frost & Sullivan Paint Contractors Choice Award for Overall Best Brands

I also paint custom furniture for people but I hand paint everything. I would use this for my growing business…I love to paint with a brush but it’s nice to try new things. Plus I would never buy a sprayer for myself (well not a fancy one)!

  32. Lindia June 3, 2013 at 10:34 pm #

KITCHEN cabinets!! They are grody (sp?) and nasty and (dull) golden oak from the late 80′s but they are in pretty good shape so I can’t justify ripping them out. I can, however, use a Graco paint sprayer to spiff them up and get them ready for Round 2 of their lives. I would spray them white and then do a subtle antique wash so the darker colors settles into all of the crevices…. be still my heart. I. really. need. this.

Even if I don’t win it, thanks for the giveaway though!
    :-)

  33. Kathy June 3, 2013 at 10:36 pm #

  55. Raven June 4, 2013 at 12:39 am #

I love to paint furniture when I actually get a chance! I guess it’s like therapy and takes me to a happy place :) only problem is I usually paint with a brush, which takes FOREVER, because the sprayer I have has to connect to a compressor and it’s a piece! Sprayers make every thing so much smoother! I’ve been telling my hubby that I would love one of these, so hopefully my name gets chosen. New baby on the way (June 10th

  56. Linsey June 4, 2013 at 12:51 am #

  68. Jaclyn Patterson June 4, 2013 at 3:37 am #

When we bought our first house three years ago, we only had two days for closing and moving all of our furniture in the new house. My hubby is in the Navy and he had to go out to sea with his ship, so we moved in and the whole house needs to be painted! So I would start with my living room and my 18 ft ceilings (then the rest of the house!!) And I would paint my Adirondack chairs! :)

  69. Kirstie Hunskor June 4, 2013 at 4:00 am #

This is so exciting!!! I would absolutely LOVE this sprayer to be able to do a full makeover on my old boring furniture to give it some raz-mataze. 75. Andrea June 4, 2013 at 4:18 am #

I have a couple of pieces of furniture that were found and free to me :) they are in good shape but to give them the modern feel I’m looking for I’d love to paint them bold colors. But, they are quite large, full of drawers and the sanding alone will take a lifetime. I’d love if the painting could go that much quicker! Thanks for the opportunity!!f

  76. Patty June 4, 2013 at 4:23 am #

This paint sprayer would make my new hobby of painting old furniture so much more fun and so much easier. Thank you.

FB pages are liked! What a neat giveaway for those of us who’ve always wanted a sprayer, but are just not able to spend the money on it. With all of the furniture and other projects I build, this would be a whole lot faster than brushing on the paint, helping me to get things done faster – which is awesome when you have little ones running around that you are constantly stopping for. ;-)

  93. Annemarie June 4, 2013 at 4:45 am #

I would start off with this great corner hutch I found at a thrift store that I tried to paint red, but when the paint dried, it was more of a pinky-red & I was going for barn red! Then I made the mistake of using a chemical stripper on it & now it’s a stripy mess! After that, the possibilities are endless! Thanks Sausha & Graco for this opportunity to paint on something other than a canvas!

  167. Erin June 4, 2013 at 6:50 am #

  195. Rachel C. June 4, 2013 at 7:40 am #

A paint sprayer would be a dream come true. Recently my boyfriend and I purchased our first home. He is 52 and I’m 42, this is something that neither of us thought would ever happen for us. I lived in NYC for 23 yrs. and never thought I could afford a home. He lived in Va. and raised his 2 sons by himself and didn’t think buying a home was in his future. We moved to Upstate NY a year and a 1/2 ago to be near both our mothers and decided to look for a home. We fell in love and purchased a home built in the late 1800′s. It is a Craftsman style home with all of its woodwork in tact. The problem is that there is wallpaper, EVERYwhere, even on the ceilings in some rooms. Before getting the home we had to make some repairs to get our FHA loan, they had to be done in one week and I mostly had to do them myself because he works. Scraping 5 layers of wallpaper was a huge task and then painting it in one week along with the ceilings of 2 other rooms (I’m 5′ 3″ and that was awkward and difficult.) was overwhelming. (Not to mention the nerve damage I sustained in my thumb from scraping so much. Yup, it doesn’t bend the way it should anymore.Oh well, the work needs to get done. :) ) I said to him, that if we had a sprayer it would go so much faster. He agreed, but with purchasing the new home, that would be on the back burner for now. So as of now, I scrape furniture, wallpaper, plaster etc. and either hand paint or spray paint(furniture only). Having a paint sprayer would make the work so much easier, faster and give it such a clean look to our new home. One dream down (new home), hopefully one more on the way (new paint sprayer).

  221. Shannon Combest June 4, 2013 at 8:43 am #

I have a garage full of thrift store finds, antiques, and vintage pieces. I absolutely love to refinish old worn out pieces that need some life brought back into them! I’ve been contemplating switching over from hand painting with brushes to a paint spray gun. There are so many options out there, and I don’t know if I should start with a paint spray gun or a gun that connects to an air compressor. Please enter me to win the Graco gun because this would be a great opportunity for me to begin the process of becoming more efficient with my hobby/small side business! Thanks!

Hmm, I have the entire downstairs to paint. I’ve got two dressers, a ladies vanity I’m using as my desk, and my grandmother’s old cedar chest to paint as well. Then there are all the random small things, like the tray that came with the wine “basket” we got for Christmas a few years ago, random frames I pick up at yard sales, tchochkies that look better painted. You name it, it is not safe from paint in my house! I’ve even painted shoes.

  225. Jessica June 4, 2013 at 8:51 am #

My husband and I started an etsy shop about a year ago (www.etsy.com/shop/graftedcrafters) and we refinish furniture. This would greatly help our business!

As a mother of two sets of young twins, a degree in art, and little creative spare time to spare, I would paint anything and everything I could! As you can imagine, that paint sprayer would make my new-found love (and source of sanity) a possibility. Since discovering your blog a few months ago, I have started painting all of our old furniture around the house, our outside door frames, and just whatever creative nuggets I can find at garage sells and the D.I. It has been a healthy creative outlet for me after some heartbreaking family news this past winter and spring, but has been very difficult to find time for while taking care of our family. The possibility of winning a Graco paint sprayer makes me want to do the hula … and Mama don’t dance! I mean really, can you just imagine what 2 seven-year-olds and two three-year-olds would do with paint in a spray gun!!!! Maybe I better not enter after all … :)

  398. Karen June 5, 2013 at 4:29 pm #

Although most of the painting in the house has now been done..I have a fireplace mantle and enclosure I would like to repurpose and refinish as well as a couple of other pieces of furniture that are somewhat delapidated and outdated. Having this sprayer would definately cutdown on the time it would take for me to complete these projects! Pick me please :)

  403. Cassie Ingrum June 5, 2013 at 6:47 pm #

I am a DI/yard sale junky and love refinishing pieces. I am actually starting up my own furniture refurbishing business. I have been in the market for a good paint sprayer, so if I won this, that would be amazing!!

I want a sprayer so badly! I think it would be easier to answer what I wouldn’t paint…I won’t (maybe) paint my kids. ;)

I absolutely love your blog! I have only painted a few projects & need to finish some more. I remember reading your blog earlier about what spray gun you use. I so need to get one, I have been brushing &, your right, that takes forever. I just found out I am having a girl after 3 boys, so would love to win the sprayer & paint this hutch to use as a baby changing table! Thanks for sharing your expertise!!

    Hey Sausha,

I love how you re-do your furniture.

My home is my haven where I take great joy in how it looks. It helps provide peace and joy. At times I live on KSL looking for just the right piece of furniture that speaks to me so I can make it come to life again and enjoy it in my home.

I can’t tell you how many hours I have spent sanding, priming and painting. You know how it is. Anyways, too many hours have been spent painting, and painting again and then the wrong brush stroke happens or a bug, or cotton from a cotton tree decides to settle on my hours of hard work. Also, trying to figure out the right brush that will work the best is not my idea of fun.

A piece I re-did lately was so frustrating because I had to re-do parts of it so many times I thought, I don’t think I will do this again.

I have researched sprayers and even looked into the one you used that you posted a year or two ago but I just can’t justify the money etc.

I so enjoy making things over. If I could save tons of time by using a sprayer then that’s all the more energy I have either for my family or to continue doing what I love to do.

Thanks for all your posts, I enjoy them so much.

I have so many great ways to use this! I recently purchased my first house, and I’ve been finding ways to improve it ever since; more often than not, it involves paint. This would be perfect!

I bought a sprayer last week (different manufacture). Went up in smoke (literally) 5 minutes after using it!! So disappointing and right in the middle of a project. I definitely need a new one!

Hi, You are a inspiration to My Girlfriend and I, I am helping her work on some special projects. Just started a couple and it sure is a lot of work when you have to use a paint brush, We are dreaming of a paint Sprayer and we read pretty much your entire site and we just love the way you talk about each project you work on and how you show the before and after pictures. So if I were to win the paint sprayer, It would make life alot easier. I would use this paint sprayer on the projects I have to finish . I work full time so I do this in my spare time and hopefully I can quit my job and do the things in life I do enjoy, like painting. God Bless you. Keep up the great work you do, Cant wait until you post your next project.

    Thanks. Rory

I would use it to paint just about every piece of furniture that I have, but the most fun would be using it to help my two oldest boys paint the furniture for their College apartments!

The first thing I would paint would be the ugly side table I have lost interest in dolling up, yet it’s still there being blah in my living room. I found it on the side of the road, and still kinds looks like it.
